Obituary: Rey J. Reyes, 30, Of Meriden

Rey, who worked as a Fire Hose Inspector for IIA, was a giving, loving, vibrant soul who will be missed dearly.

MERIDEN, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Rey J. Reyes, 30, of Meriden, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022 at his home.

He was born in Meriden on June 3, 1992, a son of Velma (Lespier) Vega and his paternal father Raul Reyes.

Rey worked as a Fire Hose Inspector for IIA. He was a graduate from Maloney High School and received a degree from the Branford Hall Career Institute.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his dad, Alfredo Vega; his sisters, Johanna Vega, Alira Reyes and Adrina Reyes; his brothers, Alfredo J. Vega, Raul “RaRa” Reyes and Xaiden Reyes; his grandparents: Gladys and Julio Guzman, Domingo Santana, Tito and Irma Reyes; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends. He was a giving, loving, vibrant soul who will be missed dearly.

Rey’s Family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Burial will be held privately.
