Obituary: Richard H. Miller Jr., 67, Of Meriden

MERIDEN, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Richard H. Miller Jr., 67, of Meriden, died peacefully on December 23, 2023 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain.

Born in Meriden on November 22, 1956, Rick was a son of the late Richard H. and Phyllis (Rogers) Miller Sr. He graduated from H.C. Wilcox Technical High School class of 1975.

As an auto mechanic, he worked at several garages and dealerships throughout his career. Rick was a car enthusiast, having owned many classic and muscle cars in his lifetime. He especially enjoyed drag racing. Rick had many interests and hobbies including reading, particularly WWII history, gardening, and antiques. He also loved western movies, and spending time with his dogs.

Rick is survived by his four siblings, Nadine Kowalec and her husband, Thomas of Southington, Michael Miller of Meriden, Jeffrey Miller and his wife, Madeline of Wallingford and Patricia Rivera and her husband, Elias of Meriden; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his niece, Jessie Katz; and his grandniece, Fiona Pope.

Rick’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Saturday, Jan. 6 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service and celebration of his life. Burial will be held privately.
