Obituary: Rose Ann Menichetti, 93; Formerly Of Meriden
Prior to her retirement, Rose was a pharmacy clerk at Centennial Plaza Pharmacy in Meriden.

MERIDEN, CT — (From Meriden Memorial Funeral Home): Rose Ann Menichetti, 93, formerly of Meriden, beloved wife of Joseph Menichetti, passed away on June 22, 2023 in Masonicare Home and Hospice. Rose and Joseph would have celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary in August.
Rose was born in Scranton, PA, February 10, 1930, to the late Clementine and Joseph Pusateri. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary, Anna, Tony and Peter. Prior to her retirement, Rose was a pharmacy clerk at Centennial Plaza Pharmacy, Meriden.
Along with her husband, Rose is survived by two daughters, Rosemary Niland and her husband Bill of Harwich, MA and Joan Shumaker and her husband Ted of Milford, CT. Rose had a bountiful treasure of grandsons who adored their grandmother, Christopher Niland of Owings Mills; Maryland; Drew Laude and his wife Colleen of Weymouth, MA; Stephen Shumaker of Nashville, TN and Matthew Shumaker of Cambridge, MA. Rose is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Rose truly enjoyed her Ashlar Village community where she was known as everyone’s grandmother. She always greeted residents she encountered with a wide smile on her face and always insisted her guests have something to eat or drink. The family would like to thank her aide Nancy who provided invaluable and loving care during the last weeks of Rose’s life.
A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Rose’s memory was offered on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave., Meriden. There were no calling hours. Inurnment was in the State of CT. Veterans’ Cemetery in Middletown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Rose’s memory can be directed to Notre Dame High School, 1 Notre Dame Way, West Haven, CT 06516. These contributions will be directed to financial aid support for deserving students.
