Obituary: Shannon Erica Pipicelli, 46, Of Meriden

MERIDEN, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Shannon Erica Pipicelli, 46, of Meriden, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her childhood home on May 16, 2023, following an extended illness.

Shannon was born in Middletown on June 4, 1976, a daughter of Thomas and Judith (Lohrmann) Pipicelli of Meriden.

Shannon was a lifelong resident of Meriden and a 1994 graduate of Maloney High School. She attended the University of Rhode Island, the University of Hartford, and received her Associate Degree as a CNA from Middlesex Community College. Shannon was a proponent of holistic health. She was certified in Healing Touch and Reiki Therapy and passionately shared her knowledge and skill to benefit others.

Shannon was incredibly creative and artistic. She expressed herself beautifully through a variety of artistic mediums, and her spirit lives on in the drawings, paintings, and writings she has generously shared with her family and friends.

Shannon enjoyed reading, especially any forms of literature containing messages of inspiration and healing. Music and dancing gave Shannon great comfort and joy, and she loved to travel to attend concerts throughout the USA.

Shannon loved the outdoors and found peace when immersed in nature whether it be hiking with her sons, family boating vacations along the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound, ziplining, paddle boarding or enjoying many beautiful sunsets with family and friends in Nicaragua. Shannon’s Nicaragua travels were never complete without a visit to Torro in Popoyo for her favorite meal of Pasta Prima Vera.

In addition to her devoted parents, Shannon is survived by her sons, Ethan Pipicelli and Noah Genarelli; her sister, Sandra Pipicelli (Richard O’Hara); her brother, Scott Pipicelli (Kellie Partanen); nephews, Sam and Will Pipicelli; nieces, Peighton and Rowan O’Hara; Noah’s father Brian Genarelli; and her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Shannon is predeceased by Ethan’s father, Tanner Priest.
