Obituary: Starr Sarrazin, 60, Of Meriden

Starr loved to travel, the beach, hosting events for her family and friends and walking her beloved dog, Blossom at Hubbard Park.

MERIDEN, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Starr Sarrazin, 60, of Meriden, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 following a valiant battle with cancer. She was born in St. Petersburg, FL on December 21, 1963, a daughter of the late Carl Tillbrook and the late Karen DeFazio.

Starr worked for Voya Financial as an ERISA Consultant for many years. She was an avid cross stitch master, an amazing cookie artist, she loved working in her gardens and cooking alongside The Barefoot Contessa. Starr loved to travel, the beach, hosting events for her family and friends and walking her beloved dog, Blossom at Hubbard Park.

Starr is survived by her beloved partner in life, Chris Dougan of Meriden; her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Jennifer Sarrazin of Southington; her sisters, Nicole (Donna) Valenti-Tillbrook of Warwick, RI and Erica (Jesse) Rogers of Ocala, FL; and her honorary sister, Andrea (Allen) Atkins of Meriden; as well as numerous extended relatives and many cherished friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her stepfather, Rusty DeFazio.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., on Monday, Feb. 19 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 11 a.m., directly at St. John Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden. Burial in Gethsemane Cemetery will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Franciscan Life Center, 271 Finch Avenue, Meriden, CT 06451 to support their Hospice program.
