Obituary: Theresa L. Niemiec, 97, Of Meriden

MERIDEN, CT — (From Meriden Memorial Funeral Home): On Friday, May 5, 2023, Theresa A. (LaRosa) Niemiec, 97, peacefully entered eternal life. She was the loving wife of the late Jacob Niemiec.

Theresa was born in Meriden, December 6, 1925, a daughter of the late Salvatore LaRosa and Antonietta (Marianiello) LaRosa and has been a lifelong Meriden resident.

Theresa attended Meriden Public Schools and graduated from Meriden High School. She lived in her family homestead from the age of 2 until shortly before her death. Theresa enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble. She was an avid reader, often finishing 3 books a week. She had many interests during her life and enjoyed music, dancing, and toe ballet lessons as an adult.

She leaves behind cousins Mary Ann Jenkins, Dominic LaRosa, Anthony Piacente and Jimmy Piacente. She was godmother to Susan Perillo of Southington. She also leaves many close friends including Bill and Doreen Guarino of Meriden, and Joan Bolden of Colchester.

We wish to express gratitude to Lori Domeracki, her caregiver and to comfort keepers of Wallingford. Many thanks to Complete Care of Meriden for their kindness and support towards Theresa.

Funeral services and Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery are private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden.
