Obituary: Thomas Hanlon, 84, Of Meriden

A Korean War veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps., he worked at Valley Oil Co. and with the Wallingford Public Works Department.

MERIDEN, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Thomas Hanlon, 84, of Meriden, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the Hebrew Center in West Hartford. He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline (Marcuss) Hanlon.

Tom was born in South Meriden, November 25, 1937, a son of the late Louis and Loretta (Lamb) Hanlon. He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. His career began with Valley Oil Co. where he worked for many years before moving on to the Town of Wallingford Public Works Department where retired after 17 years of service.

In addition to his wife Jacqueline, he is survived by his children, Timothy Hanlon and his wife Debra, Tammy Jenkins and her husband Jeffrey, and Todd Hanlon and his wife Veronica; his grandchildren, Sara Jenkins, Tracy Jenkins, Ryan Hanlon, Cori Kitteridge and her husband Alex, Kylie Santo and her husband Christopher, and Kiara Hanlon; his great grandson, Zachary Kitteridge; his brother Neil Hanlon; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Michael and Paul Hanlon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 10:30 a.m. directly at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 382 Hope Hill Rd, in the Yalesville section of Wallingford. Interment with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. Gifts in Tom’s memory may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: www.stjude.org.
