Obituary: William A. Frederick, 80, of Meriden

Bill, a father figure to many, was a gentle, kind and sincere man. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) William A. Frederick, 80, of Meriden, loving husband and best friend of Deborah R. Boor, passed away January 4, 2021.

He was born in Meriden on October 25, 1940, a son of the late Artur and Theresa (Gagliardi) Frederick.

He graduated from Wilcox Technical School, excelling in carpentry. Throughout his life he enjoyed creating and building many beautiful things.

Bill served his country as a corporal in the United State Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and the Cuban Missile Crisis.

A father figure to many, he was a gentle, kind and sincere man. Bill loved nothing better than being on his boat in the ocean, fishing rod in hand. Happy Times!

In addition to his wife, Debbie, he is survived by his sister, Jean Deans of Florida; sisters-in-law, Danielle Matthews of Manchester and Sue Boor of Durham; his niece, Melissa Mascola and her husband, Mark, of Windsor; his nephews, James Donnelly of Stratford Springs, David Boor and his wife, Cindy, of Tolland, Graham Matthews Jr. of New Hampshire, Jarrett and Arthur Deans of Florida; great nephews, Godson, Davey, Ryan, Jacob, Nathan, James, Evan, Brett and Kyle.

Special thanks to Brett for the exceptional care and devotion he gave his uncle Billy, and to Riley Autumn, his special treasure and best buddy who never failed to make him smile, and put great joy in his heart.

Bill, you were always up or an adventure on land or sea, living a full happy life, no regrets! Thanks for everything. Go with the tides, in peace. Love always.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in safer times. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory can be made to your favorite charity.
