Pair of Meriden Police Officers Praised for Assisting Stranded Motorist

Officers helped Jessica Peruti and her family over New Year's Eve.

MERIDEN, CT — Meriden Police Officers Mike Lounsbury and Mark Nowak came to the assistance of Jessica Peruti and her family over New Year's Eve when the pair changed a flat for the family, according to a post on the department's Facebook page.

The family was able to stay inside the warm car while the two officers worked in the inclement weather on Colony and Hanover streets. And fellow Officer Mike Shedlock says the two should be recognized for the effort in helping the appreciative family.

"I felt this incident needed a little recognition, and I am proud to work along side these officers," said Shedlock. "Thank you Officer Lounsbury and Officer Nowak for setting the standard and showing our community what it means to be a Meriden Police Officer."
