PD: Meriden Woman Sold Pit Bull Puppies Too Young
Police say the puppies she sold weren't 8-weeks-old.

A Meriden woman was charged with selling pit bull puppies that were too young.
Michelle Bender, 33, was charged Tuesday with eight counts of sale of young puppies and one count of failure to license a dog, according to the Record-Journal.
Police investigated after Bender showed-up at the animal shelter to pick-up the mother pit bull that recently gave birth. She claimed she sold eight-week old puppies. However, the puppies weren’t eight weeks old at the time of sale, according to police.
