2 Hospitalized After Plane Crashes On Ball Field In Meriden
Two people were inside the plane at the time of the crash, which occurred on a ballfield near a local school.

MERIDEN, CT — A small plane from Westchester, New York carrying two people crashed onto a baseball field near a local school around 7 p.m. Thursday, according to police and media reports. The plane landed on the field at H.C. Wilcox Technical High School.
The pilot was taken to a local hospital, while the passenger was flown via LifeStar helicopter to Hartford Hospital's trauma center, the Meriden Record Journal reports. Powerlines had fallen on or near the plane, which necessitated Eversource's response.
The passenger was able to crawl out of the plane before rescue crews arrived, NBC Connecticut reports. Meriden Police Sgt. Chris Fry told NBC CT that "Thankfully if there is any luck to be had is there were no events on the field tonight. No one was injured. And it looks like the injuries that have been sustained are non-life threatening."
