MERIDEN, CT — The Platt girls basketball team closed out its regular season with a 71-34 victory over city rival Maloney on Thursday night at Maloney High School.

With the win, Platt swept the season series with Maloney and even its record at 10-10. The Panthers also defeated Maloney on Jan. 15 by a score of 49-36.

It was the second straight win for Platt, which defeated Middletown 66-47 on Tuesday, Feb. 17.

The Spartans closed out their season (2-18) with a 52-45 loss to Wilcox Tech on Friday night.
