MERIDEN, CT — Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in a recent homicide. The victim of the early Sunday morning shooting was Casey Schoonover, 34.

Police said they received a call for possible shots the area of 190 Grove St. in the early morning hours Sunday. When they arrived, two cars were speeding away from the area, but they could not locate anything to corroborate the shots-fired report.

Later in the morning, police were called for a report of a body close by on Foster Court. The man had been shot, which appeared to be the cause of death.

Police said that investigation led to developing a suspect who is pictured above.

"We are asking for the public’s help in identifying the male in this photo," police said in a statement. "Any and all information is helpful."
