Police: Man Assaulted Victim, Stole Car During Meriden Home Invasion

Police said the man invaded his former date's home, strangled her in front of children and then took her car.

A Meriden man is facing home invasion charges after he allegedly broke into the home of a woman he had dated and stole her car.

Trevoy Marrow, 35, was taken into custody Friday, according to the Record-Journal. The female victim said Marrow approached the rear door of her home and asked to come inside, but she refused, police said.

He then allegedly broke down the door and began stranging her. She broke free and called police. Marrow then took her cell phone and car keys and stole her car, police said.

According to court records he is charged with home invasion, second-degree strangulation, first-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny, unlawful restraint in the first degree, third-degree assault, three counts of risk of injury to a child and multiple other charges.

He was held in lieu of $150,000 bail.
