Popeyes Opens Store On Meriden's East Side

MERIDEN, CT — Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is officially open for business in Meriden. A grand opening was held at the 1125 E. Main St. restaurant Tuesday morning, according to The Meriden Record-Journal.

Mayor Kevin Scarpati thanked Planning Commission Chairman Kevin Curry "for taking what was once just a vacant parcel and putting in something that people have been genuinely excited about for the last several months," The Meriden Record-Journal reported.

Popeyes also has a location in Wallingford, but the addition of a Meriden restaurant has long been a topic of discussion. The Zoning Board of Appeals approved the restaurant's plans in September.
