Popular Meriden Bar To Close
A bar that has been a fixture for around six decades will be forced to close due to an issue with the landlord.
MERIDEN, CT - The owner of City Tavern told The Meriden Record-Journal that the bar close at the end of the month. The tavern's landlord has told the owner that they must vacate after several gunshots were fired into the building last month.
The 521 Broad St. bar has been open for around six decades. Previously it went by the name Milner's.
Police are investigating an April 26 incident that left three bullet holes in the Tavern's front window. This was one of several reports of shootings and shots fired across the city this year.
