'Potential Cluster' Of Overdoses Reported In New London County
State officials have issued an advisory after more than 30 fatal and non-fatal drug overdoses in recent days.
NEW LONDON, CT — The state Department of Public Health has issued an advisory after a potential cluster of overdoses in New London County, according to NBC CT. Officials said between Saturday and Monday there were 30 fatal and non-fatal overdoses in the county.
The six fatal overdoses occurred in Norwich (4), New London (1), and Griswold/Jewett City (1). Four of these overdoses are believed to be connected to opioids and two connected to cocaine or crack, according to NBC CT.
