Public's Help Sought In Meriden Shooting Probe

Police this morning are seeking the public's assistance while investigating a morning shooting Saturday at a local bar that injured a man.

MERIDEN — City police are seeking the public's help Saturday as they continue to investigate an early morning shooting at a local bar that sent one man to the hospital.

According to the Meriden Police Department, at 1:06 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the area of the Tequila Galore bar located at 575 North Colony Road for a report of shots fired with a possible gunshot victim.

Police said, upon arrival, officers saw a large amount of blood in front of the establishment and recovered at least one spent shell casing.

"There were no obvious victims present," reads a Meriden PD report on the incident.

Moments later, police received a call of a male gunshot victim that had been dropped off at Midstate Medical Center’s Emergency Department.

Police identified the individual as the victim from the North Colony Road shooting.
The victim is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. This case is currently active and information is limited at this time.

A desk sergeant this morning said the man was in stable condition and wasn't cooperating with police in the investigation.
