Rain, Fog Expected to Impact Evening Commute in Meriden

We'll let you know how much rain to expect, when it begins and ends, and some good weather news is on the way.

When it comes to weather in Connecticut today it’s a tale of two different forecasts. In Hartford and Tolland counties there is a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for snow and ice, while southern Connecticut has no such advisories issued.

Today’s forecast for the entire state isn’t pleasant for anyone as a raw, cold rain will fall in southern Connecticut, possibly mixed with a brief period of ice in inland sections. In Hartford and Tolland counties some snow and ice may accumulate up to an inch, which could lead to slippery travel conditions for the evening commute home from work. The worst of the weather is expected this afternoon into early Wednesday in northern Connecticut.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons “wrote, I expect Rain to arrive for the middle of the day and the afternoon today. Have your umbrella! There could be some ice near the Massachusetts line. Quiet weather tomorrow through Friday. It just might be cloudy for much of the time. Have a great day!”
