A Remarkable Act of Kindness by a Meriden Police Officer

Meriden, CT - At a time when tensions in Meriden have risen due to an uptick in gun violence, a local police officer is being recognized for a simple - yet powerful - act of kindness.

As the below Facebook post describes, on Saturday Off. John-Paul Dorais took it upon himself - using his own money - to obtain a room at a local Comfort Inn & Suites for a homeless woman he had seen sleeping in a shed in sleeping bag.

He did it so that she could have a decent night's sleep. 

"Officer Dorais's act of kindness exemplifies what the men and women of the Meriden Police Department stand for, and we are proud of him and all our officers who do these kinds of deeds that are seldom recognized," wrote police officials.
