Search For Meriden Swimmer In CT River Ends

Crews called off a search for a Meriden man who went missing Sunday night.

EAST HADDAM, CT - Officials are calling off a search for a Meriden man who went missing after swimming in the Connecticut River Sunday night, according to the Meriden Record-Journal. Crews had been searching for the 42-year-old Sunday night and Monday.

The search was called off pending further developments as the man is now presumed dead.

Authorities told WFSB that the man was swimming with a friend and some children when he did not resurface.
