Several Shooting Incidents In Meriden
Police are investigating six reported shooting incidents this week.
MERIDEN, CT — Police said a number of shootings have occurred in Meriden recently.
Police provided the following statement detailing each shooting:
On 08/17/20 at approximately 7:20 pm, Officers responded to the area of 93 Camp Street as well the area of Camp Street at Center Street for the report of shots fired. A thorough canvass was done; however, no evidence was recovered and we cannot confirm if any shots were fired.

On 08/17/20 at approximately 9:50 pm, Officers responded to the area around 19 ½ Hinman Street for the report of shots fired. Upon arrival, Officers located a shell casings in the roadway and discovered that the home at this address had been struck multiple times by gunfire. There were no injuries to any of the residents and this is an active police investigation at this time.
On 08/17/20 at approximately 10:20 pm, Officers responded to the area around 45 Andrews Street for the report of shots fired. Upon arrival, Officers located shell casings in the roadway and discovered that the home at this address had been struck multiple times by gunfire. There were no injuries to any of the residents and this is an active police investigation at this time.

On 08/17/20 at approximately 11:10 pm, Officers responded to the area around 258 Spring Street for the report of shots fired. At that time nothing was located so we were unable to determine if shots had been fired. This morning we received a call from the resident at 258 Spring Street who reported multiple bullet holes in his home. There were no injuries to any of the residents as a result of the shooting and this is an active police investigation at this time.
On 08/18/20 at approximately 12:50 am, Officers responded to the area of 17 Sherman Avenue for the report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located multiple shell casings in the roadway and discovered that the home at 17 Sherman Avenue had been struck by gunfire multiple times. There were no injuries to any of the residents and this is an active police investigation at this time.
On 08/18/20 at approximately 1:15 am, Officers responded to the area of 63 Cherry Street for the report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located multiple shell casings in the roadway and discovered that the home at 63 Cherry Street had been struck by gunfire multiple times. There were no injuries to any of the residents and this is an active police investigation at this time.
