State Senate Votes to Block Closure of Middlesex Meriden Campus

The state senate voted on an amendment to block the closure of Middlesex Community College’s Meriden campus.

The senate also voted on a seperate amendment that would require legislative approval to close any state school campus, according to the Hartford Courant.

College officials announced the closure and cited it as a cost-saving measure. School officials were concerned about the pending state budget, which brings with it proposed cuts to state colleges.
