Stolen Dog Reunited With Family In Meriden: Police

An investigation continues into the theft of a dog from a Meriden yard.

MERIDEN, CT — A dog reported stolen from a yard in Meriden has been reunited with his family, according to a police Facebook post. Cookie the Yorkie was reported stolen Aug. 4.

Police located an ad on a mobile market website listing a Yorkie for sale Aug. 7. The family believed that the dog was Cookie.

An undercover police officer posed as a buyer to secure Cookie and return him to his family. This officer made contact with the people trying to sell the Yorkie and identified the Yorkie as Cookie.

Cookie was recovered and returned to his family.

"The Meriden Police Department is happy that Cookie has been reunited with his family before he was sold to another unsuspecting buyer," police said in the post.
