Three Plead Guilty to Robbery and Multimillion Jewelry Store Heist

Victims were kidnapped in Meriden and driven to Fairfield where the heist occurred.

Three men have pleaded guilty to a violent kidnapping and jewelry store heist in April 2013.

According to court documents and statements made in court, at least four men wearing masks and gloves, two of whom were armed with handguns, broke into a Gravel Street apartment in Meriden and bound four victims with duct tape and covered their heads, said Tom Carson, U.S. District Attorney for the District of Connecticut spokesman.

They then tossed two of the victims into the victims’ vehicle and drove them to Lenox Jewelers in Fairfield. The victims worked there.

Between $4 and $5 million in valuables were stolen. The perpetrators left the victims bound in the store and stole their car.

William David, 27, of Allentown PA, Jeffrey Houston, 28 of Allentown and Christopher Gay, 29, of Bronx, NY were captured and arrested by police in May 2013.

Davis pleaded guilty Monday to one count of interference with commerce by robbery and one count of using a firearm during a violent crime. The other two men pleaded guilty earlier in December.

Each man faces at least seven and up to 20 years in prison, Carson said. The men forfeited valuables and more than $127,000 in cash seized from them in May. Houston forfeited his vehicle as well.

Two others have been arrested and are awaiting trial.
