Two-Alarm Blaze At Meriden Building

Meriden and Middletown firefighters reportedly at the scene.

MERIDEN, CT — Firefighters from at least two departments are battling a blaze in Meriden Saturday afternoon, according to the BreakingNowCT Twitter feed.

BreakingNowCT reports the blaze is a two-alarm fire at 11 Crown St. at the corner of South Colony and Crown streets.

The fire was reported by BreakingNowCT just between 1:30 and 1:45 p.m. Saturday.

According to BreakingNowCT, there may be multiple exposures of flames at the building, with firefighters still investigating.

WTNH Channel 8 reports that wind impacted the blaze and caused difficulties for responding firefighters.

Reportedly, the Middletown firefighters are joining Meriden firefighters as a mutual aid provider.
