The pair claims the detective repeatedly beat them with a baton.

Two Meriden residents, Jazmin Aponte, 33, and Jason Rivera, 32, who were arrested in 2011 for their roles in a 50-person brawl in South Meriden, have filed a civil rights lawsuit against Detective Joseph Femia, the Meriden Record Journal reports.
Femia is accused of striking both Aponte and Rivera repeatedly with his police baton and throwing them to the ground. Both Aponte and Rivera sustained injuries, the Record Journal reports.
