Vandal Tags Meriden Car with Clown Graffiti, Vulgar Marking

The car was parked on North Spring Street.

MERIDEN, CT — A car parked on North Spring Street in Meriden Monday night was tagged with clown graffiti and a phallic symbol, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.

The vandal scrawled “Chubbs the clown was here” in white spray paint on a car owned by Anthony Canalia, who was preparing to take his children to school Tuesday morning when he discovered the markings.

Meriden police are investigating the incident. Clown costumes have been banned by New Haven officials for Halloween, as sightings and crimes caused by people dressed as creepy clowns have escalated in recent months around the country and in Connecticut.
