Victim Stabbed In Back, Suffers ‘Significant Injuries’: Meriden Police
A man is accused of stabbing another man in the back in Meriden, according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — A man is accused of stabbing another man in the back in Meriden, according to police.
Police received a 911 call around 3:40 a.m. on Sept. 30 on the report of a man with stab wounds to his back at a home on Cottage Street. The man had sustained several stab wounds, according to police.
The victim was taken to the hospital with significant injuries, police said.

An investigation found that the stabbing happened within the home, according to police.
Bacilio Fernandez, 29, was identified as the suspect, according to police. He turned himself in on a warrant on Oct. 12.

Fernandez was charged with first-degree assault. He was being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond with a court date of Nov. 1, according to state judicial records.
