Waterbury Regional Chamber Launches "WhatItzAbout" Membership Campaign April 16, 17, 18

On April 16, 17 and 18, the Waterbury Regional Chamber will host their 2013 Membership Drive Campaign. For the third consecutive year, they will utilize their distinctive “WhatITZABOUT!” website http://WHATITZABOUT.com to attract more businesses and organizations to their non-profit organization. "WhatITZABOUT.com is a very effective tool,” stated Lynn Ward, president and CEO, “it includes video interviews with many of our members on how their businesses have thrived from their involvement with our organization. The WhatITZABOUT.com web site was launched in 2011 and today we have 1,000 members and we’re growing every month.” One of the largest chambers in Connecticut, the Waterbury Regional Chamber (www.waterburychamber.com) represents over 1,000 businesses in the Greater Waterbury region including Beacon Falls, Bethlehem, Cheshire, Middlebury, Naugatuck, Oakville, Oxford, Prospect, Southbury, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott, and Woodbury. On April 16, 17 and 18, chamber member volunteers will be calling local area businesses to telling them about their personal success stories as well as the abundance of benefits of being involved with the chamber. “Membership in this chamber,” explained Ward, “provides a business or organization with exceptional opportunities for visibility through numerous ongoing, week-to-week face-to-face meetings with decision makers, prospective new clients and business referrals. Every month we offer many programs on timely topics that have proven to be of benefit to our members. Networking opportunities abound. We also offer a variety of seminars, leads groups, business expos and many more opportunities to meet potential new contacts, referrals and other professionals who can offer ideas and ways to grow a business.” “Additional benefits of membership,” continued Ward, “include discounts on products and services offered by our members, low-cost advertising opportunities, advocacy ambitions directed toward state representatives and legislators, sponsorship opportunities to increase visibility of a company or organization and access to the newly created young professionals organization. The benefits are amazing and effective.” Rocco Corso, president of Corso Printing in Naugatuck, remarked that, “Membership in this chamber is about outstanding leadership, sponsorship and networking opportunities which successfully marketed our business both locally and regionally.” Catherine Gelinas of Vision Associates of Prospect, commented, “It’s about growing our individual business as well as giving and receiving support from fellow area business. As a new business, chamber membership helped us gain exposure and bring in new patients.” Barbara Falcone DeBisschop of YoCrunch Yogurts in Naugatuck stated, “It’s about the way the chamber supports every business, regardless of size. Every company has the same access to marketing resources that truly reap benefits in helping to grow your business.” Companies or organizations joining the Waterbury Regional Chamber during the chamber’s April 16, 17 and 18 Membership Drive will be offered a waived membership application fee of $25, complimentary passes to selective Chamber events, plus a 180-day money back guarantee. New members will also receive a 50% discount on advertising, a value up to $300, in the Waterbury “Republican American” newspaper. Health care related businesses will receive $50 toward the membership with the Chamber’s Health Care Council. “Our annual membership drive offers great incentives for businesses and organizations that might have considered joining and have yet to do so. We welcome early joiners too,” stated President Ward. JANCO Business Services, Inc., for the third consecutive year, is the exclusive sponsor of the membership drive. Located at 10 Chase River Road in Waterbury, JANCO is sellers and servicers of office equipment and supplies including digital copiers and printers, fax machines, scanners and office supplies.
