WOLCOTT, CT — A Wolcott gym teacher was charged Thursday on allegations that he had sexual contact with a student, The Hartford Courant reported. Forgione was suspended with pay by the school district following the complaint, FOX 61 reported. Following investigation, police presented the case to the Waterbury State's Attorney's Office, which granted an arrest warrant.

Forgione denied all allegations in a statement from his attorney, according to FOX 61. The attorney called the charges "baseless" and said that Forgione "looks forward to being vindicated at the end of what we anticipate will be a long and painful process."
