Woman Killed After Car Becomes 'Airborne' On Route 15 In Meriden

The accident occurred just before midnight.

MERIDEN, CT — Sally Mosher, 57, of Littleton, New Hampshire was killed late Saturday after a car driven by David Perez, 21, of Bridgeport struck the median on Route 15 and ended up flying into a car carrying four people from New Hampshire, State Police said.

The accident occurred at 11:30 p.m. near Exit 67, State Police said. The vehicle carrying Mosher and three others from New Hampshire was traveling on Route 15 north in the left lane between Miller Avenue and Exit 67.

Perez's vehicle was traveling south in the left lane on Route 15 in the same area heading toward the Miller Avenue exit when it ran off the left side of the roadway and struck the curb, State Police said. Perez's vehicle "became airborne and launched over the metal beam guide rail on the median and crossed over into the northbound travel lane. "

As a result, Perez's vehicle struck the vehicle carrying Mosher head-on. Perez had to be extricated from his vehicle and Mosher was pronounced dead at the scene, while three other occupants were taken to hospitals.
