• Middletown Revolutionary War Soldier Overlooked No More (patch.com) — A Revolutionary War grave-marking ceremony for veteran Philemon Freeman will be held Sept. 12 at Old North Burial Ground on Jackson Hill Road in Middlefield, honoring his long-unmarked resting place. Organized by the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Middlefield Historical Society, the event highlights the service of this Black Middletown soldier as part of regional America 250th commemorations.
