MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown police during the overnight hours were actively searching for a suspect in a shooting incident.
The scene unfolded at about 6 p.m.
Police said they believe the incident was an isolated one with those involved knowing one another.
No injuries have been reported.
Police said that, after the shooting, an armed suspect likely left the scene on foot and a shelter-in-place order was issued for East Street, Westlake Drive, Smith Street, Country Club Road and Atkins Street.
The suspect was being described as a "white male" with long hair and a beard, last seen wearing all black clothing.
Middletown police, Cromwell police and state police were involved in the search and a wanted poster was circulated:
At midnight, police said they were still searching for 29-year-old Christopher Robert.
The shelter in place previously issued for surrounding areas was nevertheless lifted at 8 p.m., police said.
Said police, "This image was the last known surveillance photo of Lane, captured in the area of 100 Roscommon Drive at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. At this time, it is believed Lane is no longer in the immediate area. However, if you see him, do not approach or attempt to make contact. Call 911 immediately. Additional details to follow when available."
