MIDDLETOWN, C T — The Middletown Memorial Day Parade has been rescheduled to Sunday, May 31.
The announcement was made Thursday.
The parade is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m., and will begin on Main Street near Spring Street and Rome Avenue. The parade will proceed down Main Street toward the South Green.
Presentation of trophies will take place at the South Green.
Main Street and surrounding roads will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 10 a.m. the day of the parade. Questions about road closures can be directed to the Middletown Police Department at (860) 638-4000.
Mayor Gene Nocera said, "I would like to thank The Council of Veterans Organizations of Middletown and everyone involved in organizing the Memorial Day Parade. This parade honors those who died while serving this country in the United States Armed Forces. May we all remember their sacrifices and service to our nation, and may we remember the families who are mourning loved ones."
