MIDDLETOWN, CT —The suspect in. a May 19 shooting in Middletown has been extradited from New York State and is set to be arraigned in a Connecticut courtroom Thursday, police said.
On Wednesday, detectives from the Middletown Police Department traveled to Dutchess County, NY, and took Christopher Lane back to Connecticut in connection with an active shooting investigation stemming from an incident that occurred in Middletown on May 19.
On May 23, Lane was taken into custody in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is accused of opening fire on another person, prompting shelter-in-place advisories for parts of Middletown. The shooting incident occurred just before 4:45 p.m. on May 19 in the area of Westlake Drive, police said.
Following his return to Connecticut, Lane was processed by the Middletown Police Department and charged with:
Lane is being held on a $750,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Middlesex Superior Court on Thursday, police said.
