Middletown Police Captain Graduates From FBI National Academy

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Capt. Brian Hubbs of the Middletown Police Department has graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA, completing the prestigious leadership program's 298th session.

Hubbs was among 255 law enforcement officers selected from across the United States and around the world to attend the 10-week academy, which provides advanced training in leadership, communication and physical fitness. Attendance is by invitation and is limited to experienced law enforcement leaders.

The 298th session included participants from 46 states, the District of Columbia and 26 countries. The class also included members of military and federal civilian organizations.

Hubbs began his law enforcement career with the Plainville Police Department in 1998 before joining the Middletown Police Department in 2005. During his career in Middletown, he has held a variety of assignments and leadership positions. He was promoted to captain in 2022.

As captain, Hubbs has overseen the department's Patrol Division and currently serves as commander of the Professional Standards Division.

Police officials said Hubbs' graduation from the FBI National Academy reflects his commitment to professional development and leadership. Graduates of the academy often return to their agencies prepared for senior executive leadership roles.

The FBI National Academy is internationally recognized for its advanced law enforcement training and has graduated thousands of law enforcement executives since its founding in 1935.
