MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown police Thursday introduced a new safety program and an application it plans to roll out "in the near future."
The app, called VIF, for Vital Information at Your Fingertips, is designed to assist families and friends who have loved ones who might be elderly or disabled.
Police said the system, which can be signed into for free, allows caregivers to link vital information into the CAD system, or computer-aided dispatch. Vital information about the elderly or disabled person can be fed into the CAD system as it manages an emergency call and coordinates a response.
