Officers determined that a 2022 Hyundai Venue and a Yamaha motorcycle had collided. The Hyundai driver was taken to Middlesex Hospital with minor injuries.

The motorcycle operator suffered head, pelvis and leg injuries and was taken to Hartford Hospital, where he was in serious but stable condition, police said.

A preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was traveling east on Washington Street and the Hyundai was traveling north on Veterans Way. Police said the vehicles collided as the Hyundai was crossing Washington Street.

The investigation remains active. Police have not released the names of either operator.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Officer Eric Sanford of the Middletown Police Traffic Division at 860-638-4061.
