What we know about the Middletown homicide and Hartford shootout (middletownpress.com) β Middletown residents are learning more about a deadly domestic violence homicide in town that led to a late-night police chase into Hartford and a shootout injuring the suspect and a juvenile. Police say the victim's former partner allegedly stalked her using a GPS device and followed her from Mohegan Sun, as state investigators now review the police use of force and unanswered questions remain.

(wesleyanargus.com) β Wesleyan biology professor Michael Singer is leading field research on insects, plants, and predators in forests around Middletown, exploring how trees may "anticipate" help from birds and ants. He also describes how the new Casper Life Sciences Building has improved lab space, equipment access, and student collaboration, while sharing how his teaching and research shape each other year-round.
