• Middletown students race the clock in 'Chopped It Up' cooking competition (ctpost.com) — Middletown High School and Beman Middle School students just faced off in a fast-paced "Chopped It Up" cooking competition hosted by Middletown Public Schools. Teams had 45 minutes to turn mystery-basket ingredients, including Connecticut-grown products, into three-course meals judged by local chefs, with the Triple Threats team taking first place.
• Aware Recovery Care sold, renamed Renew Health + Recovery (hartfordbusiness.com) — An in-home addiction treatment provider based at 386 Main Street in Middletown has been sold and rebranded as Renew Health + Recovery, with leaders saying clients' care will continue uninterrupted. The deal follows serious financial troubles and a pending wage lawsuit involving its predecessor, but Renew plans to keep operating in 11 states while stabilizing services for local and regional patients.
