MIDDLETOWN, CT — The 20th annual Mayor's Ball is slated for Nov. 6 at the Wadsworth Mansion at Long Hill, with proceeds benefiting three local organizations.
Mayor Gene P. Nocera announced that the event will begin at 6 p.m. at the mansion, located at 421 Wadsworth St. The fundraiser is open to the public and businesses, with tickets priced at $125 per person.
Proceeds will benefit the Walter C. Jones Fund, the Middletown Tiller Association and the Amazing Grace Food Pantry, a program of St. Vincent de Paul Middletown.
The Walter C. Jones Fund assists local individuals and families facing financial hardship and unexpected expenses. The Middletown Tiller Association, made up of active and retired firefighters, maintains a historic American La France tiller firetruck that served the city for 30 years. The group is working to restore the vehicle for its 100th birthday.
The Amazing Grace Food Pantry provides nutritious food and other essential support to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
The event also will recognize community members for their contributions to Middletown. Albert Hamrah will receive the Mayor's Humanitarian Award in recognition of his service to the community.
The evening will include dinner catered by the Aqua Turf, drinks and dancing. Formal attire is requested. Perceptions Photography will photograph the event, with images available for purchase afterward.
Sponsorship opportunities range from $50 to $2,300. Reservations are requested by Oct. 26, and space is limited.
