First Church in Middletown is Hosting an Organ Concert

First Church would like to welcome all to this amazing event!

First Church of Middletown, Congregational which is currently in their 350th Anniversary of being a Congregation would like to invite anyone and everyone to 50th Anniversary Organ Concert which will be on May 6, 2018 at 190 Court Street Middletown, CT 06457 at 4pm. The company that made the organ is a Hartford, CT based company.

This event is to celebrate 50 years of the organ being installed at the church in 1968 which was the 300th Anniversary of the Church which is when the late Rev. Dr. Azel Washburn Hazen, D.D. was the Minister of the Church.

The Minister of Music and Organist of First Church, Ms. Shari Lucas will be preforming organ pieces from Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn and Charles- Marie Widor. The Church's Choirs (Celebration Singers and Senior Choir) will also be singing Ralph Vaughan Williams's The Old Hundredth Psalm Tune in addition to one other song. There will also be pieces played with Trumpet and Organ, Violin and Organ and Piano and Organ and Music Students from Wesleyan University will also be preforming a few pieces at this event.
Austin Organs, Inc. is a Hartford based company that has been in business since the company's founding in 1899.
The event is free of charge, however the church will be accepting any monetary donations and all donations would go to the offset of refurnishing the organ to keep it up to par so that the church can get the most use out of it.
