Free Community Dinners offered at Faith Lutheran Church, 300 Washington St in Middletown!
Community Information
All ages of children, their parents, and other adults in Middletown and the surrounding area are welcome to enjoy a free Wednesday evening dinner of food and friendship each week throughout the summer and beyond. Faith Lutheran Church will soon be celebrating seven years of providing free weekly year-round community spaghetti suppers to anyone who would benefit from free food and/or warm friendship. Faith Lutheran Church and its members and donors fund what Faith Lutheran calls, “Welcome Table Wednesday,” in the basement of the main building from 6-7pm each Wednesday evening. The building and the basement at 300 Washington St. in Middletown are handicap accessible. Meals are free to anyone who would otherwise be hungry for food or friendship and to those who accompany them. We are a safe place that regularly enjoys the company of those who are homeless, unemployed, under-employed, mentally or physically challenged, depressed, transitioning into being housed, transitioning from addiction to sobriety and their accompanying friends or social workers. No registration or proof of eligibility is required. A prayer before the meal is offered at 6pm by a guest who volunteers to do so or by Pastor Cathy Rohrs. Dinner is served from 6-7pm. Monetary or in-kind donations to the program are always welcome. Contact the Faith Lutheran Church office at 860-347-6068 for details.
