Added Kersky, “I think it’s good; the kids need more ways to interact, exercise and learn teamwork. I enjoy the amount of interest and they enjoy the music.”

Cox returned in April to teach a salsa class which drew some dance novices. “I like music and I think I will like dancing,” said Jenna, who came with a friend.

Four students in the class stepped, turned and swayed to a Latin beat. Student reporters Semira and Jolie joined in for a little while.

Another student, Phaedra, said she studied dance when she was younger and this seemed like a good chance to explore new steps. “I wanted to try something new and do it with my friend.”
