Middlesex Hospital Vocal Chords Seeks New Members

Calling all tenors and basses! If you like to sing and want to lift your spirits, be part of a family and contribute to your community, then we have the place for you. The MIDDLESEX HOSPITAL VOCAL CHORDS will resume rehearsals on Tuesday, January 16th in preparation for their annual spring concert to be held on Saturday, May 5th. New members will be accepted until February 6th.

Rehearsals are held every Tuesday from 6:45pm to 9:00pm at the Msgr. Fox Parish Hall, St. Francis Church, 10 Elm St., Middletown, CT. No auditions are necessary but basic choral capabilities are required.

The Executive Board is also requesting applications for their annual scholarship program to be awarded to deserving students pursuing a career in nursing or music. They must have been accepted at an accredited college or university with one of these majors. The Review Committee will consider academic record, extracurricular and community service activities, the students ability to articulate his/her career goals and the recommendations of the references. The scholarships will be paid directly to the students at the Spring Concert on Saturday, May 5th. All applications must be postmarked by March 26, 2018 and can be obtained at any Middlesex County high school guidance office or by calling 860.349.2042.

This non-profit group has entertained audiences for 28 years with its lively concerts showcasing a variety of musical interests. This years concert will take us to the wonderful world of Broadway. The 80 members are from Central and Southern CT and from all walks of life. You do not need to be a hospital employee to participate. All men and women over the age of 18 are welcomed.
