November 5, 2017: Middletown Roads to be Impacted by Movember 5K
Participants will sport real or fake facial hair and run in support of the Movember Foundation for men's health.
The Hartford Marathon Foundation (HMF) will produce the Movember 5K on November 5, 2017, in the communities of Portland and Middletown. About 1,000 runners will take on the 3.1-mile race, which goes from Portland to Middletown over the Arrigoni Bridge. Runners are encouraged to sport real or fake face fur (HMF will provide plenty of options!) to support the Movember Foundation, the only global charity solely focused on men’s health. This race is especially important for the community because runners are asked to bring non-perishable food donations to benefit the Amazing Grace Food Pantry. Please be aware of traffic impact and limited road closures affecting the area from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
The following will be closed to all vehicles. from 10:00 a.m. until 10:25 a.m.
- Harbor Drive, Middletown, 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
- One Westbound Lane on Route 17/66 (Arrigoni Bridge), 10:00 a.m. until 10:25 a.m.
The following will remain open for use by both vehicles and race participants. Please expect minor delays and use caution:

The Hartford Marathon Foundation makes every effort to minimize the impact of the race on local roads and neighborhoods while bringing runners in to enjoy the Portland and Middletown communities. Please seek alternate routes during the race if impacted. A detailed course map is also available here.
Additionally, runners are being asked to bring non-perishable food donations for the HMF Can food drive to benefit the Amazing Grace Food Pantry.
