Staying fit mentally and physically while on the mend

Cori Magnotta America's Fit Queen discusses staying fit while facing adversity.

This past Thursday, I had a potentially cancerous lump removed from my scalp. The lump was sent out to pathology and I'm left to wait out the next 2 hoping for good news and hooping while I wait. One of the things I enjoy most is being able to give back to the community using my hula hoops! This past Sunday, Hoop with Cori proudly made a sizeable donation to Gianna's Wish Fundraiser to benefit Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. Here I am pictured with Spider-Man and part of my Hoop with Cori donation is in the square below. The strategically placed hair band is covering the 5 stitches in my head. I'm healing very well and actually holding my hoop fitness class tonight. I accredit my staying active in the community and not focusing on myself to why I have healed so quickly. No matter what you are going through, sitting home and feeling sorry for yourself is not going to help. Grab a hoop and find a way to make someone smile! Bonus points is you put a smile on a child's face!
