2 Charged With Trafficking Fentanyl To Milford: Federal Prosecutors
Two people are facing charges that they trafficked fentanyl from New York to Milford, according to federal prosecutors.
MILFORD, CT — Two people are facing charges that they sold fentanyl in Milford, according to federal prosecutors.
In February 2023, the Drug Enforcement Administration began investigating deals involving fentanyl and other drugs "with multiple distribution points" in the Northeast.
Investigators arranged a controlled purchase of two kilograms of fentanyl Feb. 22, 2023. Winifer Acosta Jiminez, 29, and Ovidalis Jiminez Pujols, 38, both of New York, are accused of transporting the drugs from New York to Milford, prosecutors said.

Acosta Jiminez and Jiminez Pujols were indicted Jan. 23 with conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl. The crime carries a mandatory minimum prison term of five years and a maximum prison term of 40 years.
Jiminez Pujols, who has been detained since his related state arrest last year, appeared in Hartford federal court Monday and pleaded not guilty.

Acosta Jiminez pleaded not guilty Jan. 31 and is released on a $100,000 bond pending trial.
