2 Men Charged With Shoplifting at Sears; One Suspect Found in a Stolen Car

Milford police say the second suspect was apprehended after a brief foot chase.

A Branford and a West Haven resident are accused of stealing $550 worth of merchandise from Sears at the Connecticut Post Mall.

But police say one of the suspects was also in a stolen vehicle as well.

Milford police said on Tuesday they were called to Sears on a shoplifting incident. Investigating officers determined that Nikko Durso, 20, of Sybil Avenue in Branford, and Stanley Jurgielewicz, of First Avenue in West Haven, allegedly stole $550 of goods from the store.

Durso was found in the mall parking lot by officers in a stolen motor vehicle and Jurgielewicz was located after a short foot pursuit, police said.

Jurgielewicz initially provided the officers with a false identity but police were able to determine his correct name, police said.

Durso and Jurgielewicz were charged with fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny. Durso is also charged with second-degree larceny, and Jurgielewicz was also charged with second-degree forgery and interfering with a police officer.
